VOTZY STARTS HIS CAMINO

My constant companion and stalwart training partner to get ready for this journey is Votzy.
Votzy is a ten year old golden retriever.  He is an excellent walker, he is a friend to all, and he loves to visit with anyone who will pet him.  When the hot weather set in, he became less interested in long training sessions,  but was more than willing to step out for short runs two or three times a day.

Last Saturday, August 17th we set off for Perry County, Pennsylvania where Votzy will spend the next two months with my nieces and nephews.

His packing was a little easier than mine:

1 bed roll(his favorite flokati rug)

1 blue travel bag with toys, treats and preventive meds for fleas, ticks and heart worm

three 20# bags of dog food.

His biggest challenge will be sharing the spotlight with Bowker an 8 month old cocker/poodle puppy.

We arrived on Sunday a little bit subdued by the presence of the puppy.  Bowker has learned to do an amazing “army crawl” with legs splayed out behind and head down commando fashion.  Votzy hasn’t figured it out yet, but he knows there are treats involved.  When he does learn it, maybe we will see them on YouTube.

Thanks Paul, Jodi, Katie and Nick for taking Votzy into your home.
Buen Camino, Votzy !

  2. Hello Mel:

    We just returned from Paris.

Fantastic vacation. The weather could not be better.

The hotel and the location were excellent.

The croissants & cheeses were definitely superb.

We had fantastic time and I was pleased with the occasion of the trip for Edie's big birthday.

    Good luck with your training.
